Brief Introduction
“I am a West Coast Artist who creates the majestic beauty of our oceans, forests and mountains. I am a multi-medium artist. The most satisfying part of my artistry is the ability to touch others, and knowing that people can find their own definition of beauty in each piece, whether that is from a memory or a present situation in the viewer’s mind.”
Artistic Journey
Charlotte’s artistic journey began in Brantford, Ontario, surrounded by inspiration on the doorsteps of Lake Algonquin. This early connection to the natural beauty of the world profoundly shaped her innate talent, nurturing a deep appreciation and intuitive understanding of the wonders around her.
Charlotte’s intuition led her to a move to the mountains which brought grounding and inner peace, further fuelling her creativity. And a new chapter began.
While managing an Art store in Calgary Alberta, (Mona Lisa Artists’ Materials Ltd.) for over a decade Charlotte gained invaluable knowledge of art materials and a strong sense of community. This experience inspired her to move further west to Vancouver Island where she transitioned to a full-time artist and lives with her wife and dog
Artistic Style and Medium
Her work is driven by a desire to push perimeters and delve into the interactions between different polymer mediums, resin, leafing and acrylic paints. This endeavour allows her to create semi-abstract landscapes that call forth the beauty and majesty of oceans, mountains and trees.
Philosophy and Vision
Throughout her art, she hopes to inspire a deeper appreciation for all of nature and its delicate balance.
“Without blue, green cannot exist, expresses my belief in the critical role of ocean health for the planet’s well-being. There is so much beauty in this world, in order to truly appreciate it we all have to play our part in preserving it for future generations. Through my art, I aim to cultivate an awareness that transcends mere observation, striving to evoke a profound emotional connection and a heightened consciousness of the inherent beauty that surrounds us.”
